Investment Operations Manager

The Investment Operations Manager acts as a key link between the Investments and Finance teams, overseeing the entire lifecycle of trade execution and settlement, to ensure transactions are completed and reported on with accuracy and efficiency. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, a proactive approach to streamlining operations consistent attention to detail and will be skilled at building strong working relationships both within the organisation and with outside counterparties. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality investment reporting, managing relationships and ensuring smooth execution and control of investment activities, and cash management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day custodian oversight; maintain records, monitor issues, and drive timely resolution.
  • Coordinate and execute funding instructions for new investments; monitor settlements for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Own asset data integrity with our custodian and Clearwater Analytics to deliver accurate, controlled investment reporting.
  • Bridge Investments and Finance to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and balance sheet classification.
  • Manage liquidity to meet operating expenses and investment capital calls.
  • Support onboarding investment managers (KYC, account openings) and maintain up to date account information.
  • Streamline and automate investment and accounting processes, document controls and improvements.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally; prepare management information to support decisions.
  • Build collaborative relationships across the business and with external partners.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 5+ years in investment operations, investment accounting, asset management, or custodial services; insurance/reinsurance exposure is required.
  • Professional accounting designation preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with Clearwater Analytics.
  • Strong understanding of public and private instruments, payments, and settlement processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI; comfortable working with large datasets and reporting systems.
  • Track record of resolving complex investment data/reconciliation issues with custodians, managers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience documenting, enhancing, and standardise processes and controls; strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
